Observations considered during our assessment are distinguished as noteworthy by, in part, the following references:

The Residential Rehabilitation Inspection Guide provides step-by-step technical information for evaluating a residential building’s site, exterior, interior, and structural, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems - widespread acceptance among architects, engineers, builders, realtors, and preservationists.

Healthy Housing Inspection Manual (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s - CDC’s) reflects the ongoing commitment of both CDC and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to give us tools to address housing-related health hazards.

PATH (Partnership for Advancing Technology in Housing) (an effort to create, through the use of new and innovative technologies, the "Next Generation" of American housing. Goal is to improve the quality, durability, environmental efficiency, and affordability of tomorrow's houses considering information about new building materials, broader coverage of hazardous substances and the effects of earthquakes, wind, and floods, in cooperation with the National Institute of Building Sciences.)

National Center for Healthy Housing (NCHH) compared major national green building and indoor air quality guidelines with its own set of recommended healthy housing criteria to assess the extent to which these programs protect residents from health and safety hazards. The analysis examined guidelines produced by both the public and private sectors including: the

U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED  for Homes, the

National Association of Home Builders’ NAHB Green Home Building Guidelines, and

Enterprise  Community Partner’s Green Communities Criteria, spearheaded by

Enterprise in partnership with NRDC and other national entities. NCHH analysis included the

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Energy Star with Indoor Air Package and the American Lung Association’s Health House Builder Guidelines, which are programs aimed primarily at improving the quality of the indoor environment. (We compared the criteria in the selected guidelines with the NCHH healthy housing principles, which were developed by a group of national experts under a cooperative agreement from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for use in a nationwide training and education program.

American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM)

Increasingly, we emphasize indoor environmental aspects and their related occupant health benefits.  Ideally, a home should be designed, constructed, and operated in a manner where all building goals are optimized — including environmental, energy, durability, affordability, and occupant health concerns.  We will continue to follow trends that will enable us to enhance our living environment.

 INTRODUCING
The
Residential Energy & Safe Home Assessment

Say "Good bye"
Home Inspection!
(The Twenty-First Century demands more!)

Today we are interested in Healthy Homes that provide dry, clean, well-ventilated, pest-free, safe, and well maintained interiors.  Most homes can be made environmentally and energy friendly at reasonablely low costs.

What is the
Residential Energy & Safe Home Assessment?

It is a review of your home that provides validation that you made a good choice when selecting your new home.   Our report will summarize notable conditions, often minor, that when corrected will show how you can reduce energy expenses by $1 to $200 or more every month.   Often simple repairs can save one-hundred dollars in a single month.  Home Insepctions do not record minor (seemingly) repairs like does the Energy & Safe Home Assessment.  These are money saving needs!  You will be delighted because now minor repairs can be done immediately that may save thousands of dollars over time.
It is a non-intrusive and comprehensive assessment of the property, including the homes interior structure and exterior grounds.  Emphasis is placed on revelation of hazards on the property and the sources of energy losses within the homes interior envelop.  It’s NOT a home inspection – it’s a superior product intended to protect you from pricey repairs & unnecessary utility costs after the sale.
In short, we attempt to
accurately assess the condition, safety, usefulness, and rehabilitation potential of residential properties – old and new.
